I’ve been researching cleaner beauty options using the Yuka app — an app that lets you scan a product’s barcode and instantly see how clean its ingredients are. Each product gets a score out of 100, with 100/100 being the most clean.
Important note: different shades within the same foundation can have slightly different formulations and ingredient lists. So before you buy, always scan the exact shade you plan to purchase and do your own research to make sure it aligns with your skin and your personal standards.

What is the Yuka Scanner?
If you haven’t heard of it yet, Yuka is a mobile app that helps consumers analyze the ingredients in food and cosmetic products. With a quick barcode scan, Yuka provides a detailed breakdown of the ingredients, rates the product based on health impact, and even suggests cleaner alternatives if the product scores poorly. It’s an absolute game-changer for anyone who wants to make informed choices about what they put on their skin. It’s the easiest way to see if a product is safe to use or not before buying it! I now scan all my products in the store before purchasing them to make sure they align with the type of ingredients that I want to use on my skin.
