This post is all about DIY Valentine’s Day decor you can make yourself!
Valentine’s Day is coming up which makes it the next holiday to look forward to! Decorating is so fun and makes every holiday more special. But, what happens when you can’t make it to the store or don’t want to spend extra cash on decor for one day of the year? You make your own decorations
Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is a beautiful holiday and I love the style of it all. It’s so girly and pretty but in reality Valentine’s Day is just one day. Also, since the start of the pandemic, store’s aren’t always open so we need options. That’s why I found a way to create simple Valentine’s Day decorations with things you probably have laying around your house. Decorating can be easy and affordable!
DIY Valentine’s Day Decor
1. Create a Valentine’s Tree Using Your Christmas Tree
The first piece of decor you can make is a Valentine’s Day tree by repurposing your Christmas tree.
If you have a Christmas tree or any form of plant you can easily turn it into a Valentine’s Day tree.
How to create decor for the tree
Instead of buying Valentine’s Day ornaments, create your own tree decor by cutting hearts out of red or pink construction paper and placing them on the tree.
Fold the construction paper a few times and then cut the hearts to create many at once.
If you want to add something extra use any decor you have that could also pass for Valentine’s Day like bows, candy/dessert decorations, heart ornaments, chocolates etc…

This is my Christmas tree that I transformed into a Valentine’s tree. You can keep it simple and just put the hearts on your tree (like first picture) or glam it up a bit and add some extra decor you have laying around your house from other holidays (like second and third picture).
I had ribbon and flower decorations that also worked for Valentine’s Day so I added them to my tree to make it little different. Add as much or as little to the tree as you want 🙂
2. Create a DIY frame
The next easy DIY decor for Valentine’s Day is creating your own decorative frame to hang up on your wall.
How to create the frame:
-Print a pretty Valentines picture
-Stick the picture on any piece of scrapbook paper or pretty paper you have to create a make shift frame
-Optional: use an extra frame you have laying around the house
Where to find images to print?
There are so many cute images you can find online to print and create this.
I printed 2 cute photos I found on Pinterest and stuck them each on a piece of pretty scrapbook paper. If you don’t have any scrapbook paper you can stick it on construction paper or just hang them up on their own.
Here are the pretty images I found. These are the photos I printed and I included extra ones so you guys can have more options!
I found them all on Pinterest and saved them in my “Fashion Illustrations” board, you can see it below.
